Sammamish...Today

Seattle...Yesterday

The Coolest Hand-Dryer in the World

I don't think it has ever occurred to me to take a picture in a public restroom, but just leave it to Whole Foods to surprise me and take things to the next level. My hands were dry in less than 3 seconds. So, if you ever open a restaurant, trust me and Whole Foods...use a Dyson Airblade.

Sneaky Buy 2008

Every year, whoever is at home in Seattle goes in to Pike Place Market. We draw names, go around haggling and searching for bargains, and then meet up to exchange gifts over cocoa, or as this year panned out...Claim Jumper sweet potatoes. Lauren and I started it off at the very first Starbucks before we went our separate ways. Dad got Lindsay a "Spa Package"--candle, bath salts and soap, Lauren got Dad some kind of African flute, Mom got Lauren two really great lip balms, and I tried to create a yummy salad for mom, with beets, local apples, and a local cranberry walnut goat cheese. Here are some pics for those who wish they were there...

Holy cow, Lauren. We are soooo beautiful. Starbucks should pay us for this picture. Ching Chong.

Thanksgiving in Mexico

This year I was able to fly down and work with a family over Thanksgiving week, and cushioned the job with 2 weeks of surfing, seeing old friends, and eating lots of papaya and seafood.

If You're Nanny and You Know It

This is the little girl, Anusha, I've been working with for about a month. Yes, I am looking for a "real job", so please don't worry.

It's Autumn Time

This is what October looks like across the street. And you thought Washington was The Evergreen State....

Skyline Homecoming Parade

Mom got Lo and her buddy's flowers, and Jameson Gardner swedish fish. I can't get over the look on Jameson's face.

Lauren got nominada for Homecoming Senior Royalty. Here she is with her buddy, Kim.

Veggie De-Lite

i normally wouldn't use my blog to promote anything that contained white flour, cheese, and something called "creamy garlic sauce", but this pizza brought me out of anti-pizza. and, i checked, there are papa murphy's in the whole western half of the country--the half that matters most to me anyway. http://www.papamurphys.com/public/menu_deLitePizzas.cfm

Rattlesnake Ridge

Labor Day 2008 we all took a short, but steep enough, hike up Rattlesnake Ridge, a few miles east of North Bend. Lo taught me how to twist my hair, Dad carried some sweet bamboo walking sticks, Mom carried the backpack, and I just ate the huckleberries. I forgot how bitter they can be.

Zarzamoras

September is blackberry month in Sammamish. My legs and arms get a little scraped up, but this is about as cheap, organic, fresh, and delicious as it gets.

3 Generations of Hot Hatfield Women

Mom, Sofia, and LoLo on our way to art museum and sidewalk vendor adventures...

Beverly Center

"Baby Mama" is a great movie. Beverly Center in LA is not a great movie theater. Shannon is a great friend. A very great friend. Who would've thought that such a HUGE shopping center would have such tiny theaters?

The Most Beautiful Couple in LA

Happy Birthday, Kelly. Hyrum (aka Bobby Flay) cooked up a pretty amazing grilled steak/salmon feast and threw a great party. Thanks for letting me crash at your place for a while. You make me want to move back to LA...

Somewhere in Mexico

On my drive up the coast, there were many adventures. This was the most beautiful: head-high, superlong left in the middle of nowhere.

On a log for my blog

This is a picture of me in Mexico. I have gotten over my fear of shorts and have a lot of sun damage on my face. I am about 30 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta in a town called La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

Thirty-Three in 09...

...is the name of my bloggy blog blog, because on May 3, 2009 I am going to turn 33. 9 is my favorite number and 3x3=9. It´s going to be the best year of my life. I already know I have obsessive compulsive tendencies and allow myself the luxury of relying on numbers and coincidences to decide my fate. So if you still want to be my friend, let me know and I will send you updates on my blogski.
